In the darkest part of winter Warm water still flows Easing the cold that seeps through my bones And the worry that grows (Chorus:) Although they say things are bound to get worse We cannot run and hide We’ll reach out to each other in the dark And find new strength inside Sometimes I pull the covers up So I won’t hear the news If I just wait for a better day I’m afraid I’ll never move (Chorus) (Bridge:) We’ll have the conversations Use our bodies and our words We’ll step outside our speak our minds And sing louder ‘till our voices are heard I saw a crimson tree today Against a cloudy sky Though the future seems much bleaker now It brought my spirits high (Chorus) (3rd line:) We’ll reach out with a candle in the dark

1. The Donald says that he was poor when he was just a lad He swears he had a humble start and never was a cad A “small” loan from his dad gave him a solid business plan And now he swindles billions out of everyone he can! Oh! (Chorus:) Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious Even just the thought of him is something quite atrocious He can yell it louder, but he’ll never sound precocious Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious Um, did you really mean to vote for this guy? (2x) 2. He thinks that just because he’s male, that it’s ok to grope Even if the woman very clearly tells him “nope” The way he’s talking, he should have his mouth washed out with soap He thinks that we believe his lies - he must be high on dope (Chorus) 3. When he doesn’t like the questions, he labels them “attacks” He’s got creative numbers, and “alternative facts” He’s the biggest “dick”-tator, he’d like to crush dissent He wants to be our emperor, not our President! (Chorus2 - see next) (Chorus 2:) Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious Even just the thought of him is something quite atrocious If you say it loud enough you’ll probably get psychosis Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious Um, did you really mean to vote for this guy? (2x) 4. This flaming bag of Cheeto hair tells lies like they are gold He rants and roars and sniffs and screams until we all go cold As days go by, comparisons to Hitler start to grow His tiny hands are tweeting, seeming like he’s high on blow! Oh! (Chorus2) 5. Well, we could laugh at what he says or what he told the crowd But at day’s end, we must be sure that he is not allowed To ruin everything and turn our world into a dump He’s the biggest turd we’ve ever heard - Let’s all say no to Trump! (Chorus - original:) Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious Even just the thought of him is something quite atrocious He can yell it louder, but he’ll never sound precocious Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious!

B-Side 03:47
There’s something that I’ve always wanted to say to you men: How would you like to hear this warning, again and again? “Look out, take care, beware! Be careful whatever you do. Watch every move you make, or something will happen to you!” Suppose that boys were made of sugar and spice, And girls were snails and puppy dogs’ tails and nothing that’s nice; We’d turn into women whose needs would be terribly hard to control - And you’d have to dress and behave like prisoners out on parole. (Chorus:) Men, watch out! There’s dangerous women about! Boys, beware! There’s violent females everywhere! You read about rippers and rape in the news, And you fear the clatter of high-heeled shoes… Females are easily roused to passion and lust; You’re asking for trouble waiting alone at night for a bus. She could be the one Miss Right, the one you can’t live without; She could be one of those ones your daddy warned you about. It could be a friend who threatens your body and life; It could be your teacher, your mother, your lover, your sister, your wife. She’s used to the fact that you don’t fight back, nor run or shout, She’s one of the ones your daddy never warned you about. (Chorus, after 1st 2 lines:) They crawl along curbs in their Porsches and Jags, The goggle at porn and their toy-boy mags, They go to their football, riot and then Sing “Cigarettes, whiskey, and wild, wild men!...” Cover your legs, remember to button your shirt, For if you’re attacked or abused, and take the woman to court, The cops are all women, the judges are women; they’ll say you were dressed for sport. The doctors are women, the lawyers are women; they’ll say you were asking for it. Each time you open the paper, another man - Beaten and battered or raped, and murdered and dumped in a ditch. Babies and boys and old, old men - when will it end? Degradation and fear and pain, that women inflict on the men. (Chorus, after 1st 2 lines:) He lives in the shelter in panic and fear She brags of her conquests, while swilling her beer. But look around, the lovely women about outnumber the dangerous menacing ones, there’s never a doubt. Do they raise their voices to try to find the cause or the cure? (Man: “No.”) They only say: “I’m not one of the dangerous ones, for sure.” Oh, what a shame, what a tragic disgrace - To have to fear half of the human race!

Going Wrong 02:20
Lost on the highway - beneath an eggplant sky Deserted in the desert - miles flying by Oh, that sinking feeling, when you know it’s been too long I keep going, though I know I’m going wrong (Chorus:) Going, going, going Going, going, gone I keep going, though I know I’m going wrong Arguing and losing - can’t find my way out Burning up with shame - I begin to shout No graceful way to exit - No face-saving song I keep going, though I know I’m going wrong (Chorus) Standing ‘round a party - lurking in the crowd Conversation’s awkward - music’s up too loud Drinking ‘till I’m sinking - Should have heard that gong I keep going, though I know I’m going wrong (Chorus) Glaciers are melting - Planet’s got the blues Oceans are rising, but we won’t heed the news The time to change is dwindling, but for now the dollar’s strong We keep going, though we know we’re going wrong (Final Chorus:) Going, going, going Going, going, gone We keep going, though we know we’re going wrong

Thank You 03:14

(Chorus 1:) What did they do - on the day after? When we still had tears, and we still heard laughter? When after all, we hadn’t gone around the bend What did they do after the day (when) the world didn’t end? They were so sure - that we’d be blown away Oh so certain - that the earth would end that day Their faith was firm - in their higher power They had the finale figured to the final hour (Chorus 1) On the next morning - were they relieved? Or were they furious - at having been deceived? Had they sold of their earthly possessions? Will they sign up for survivor counseling sessions? (Chorus 2 - 2nd line:) When we’re still here, not hereafter? Did they lose their faith? Did they change their mind? Did they just begin to re-calculate the time? Did they claim their deity was not exact? Did they deny what had been rock-solid fact? (Chorus 3 - 2nd line:) Did they sing in praise - to raise the rafters? We could sit around - and wait for the end Or we could try - to help this world to mend Instead of fatalism or despair We could do our best to make sure it’s still there (Chorus 4:) What do we do - on the day after? When we still have tears, and we still hear laughter? When after all, we haven’t gone around the bend What do we do after the day (when) the world doesn’t end?

Before I go, I wanna do something great You never know when it might be too late But in the end, it's enough to sing There is greatness in the least little thing You might crave wealth, and you might chase fame You might want the starts to spell out your name But in the end, it's enough to sing There is greatness in the least little thing Some folks long to be misunderstood They think it's wrong to be earnest and good But a simple song will make the whole world sing There is greatness in the least little thing My two little boys find great things all around It might be a noise, or a leaf on the ground They seem to know what these small things bring There is greatness in the least little thing And when they look up into my eyes the love that's there, takes me by surprise It lifts me up like a small bird's wing There is greatness in the least little thing And when we stand, all side by side The strength that's there could turn the tide It'll shake the throne of the mightiest king There is greatness in the least little thing (1st stanza)

about

Two of a Kind, the award-winning husband & wife duo of David & Jenny Heitler-Klevans, is best known for their children’s/family music – which has been their focus for the last 28 years. They have released 9 CDs and a DVD for kids, garnering over 20 national awards. However, before they started making music for young audiences, they had been a folk/singer-songwriter duo for adults for a number of years, and they have continued that path on the side during all this time. They are releasing their first “grown-up” CD since 1992, entitled Lead With Love.

The CD includes mostly original songs by David and Jenny, plus covers and collaborations with other songwriters. The songs range from personal to political, with an emphasis on songs of resistance and resilience in the face of the current political landscape. Melanie DeMore’s rousing “One Foot/Lead With Love” and Jenny’s beautiful “Strength Inside” were both written shortly after the 2016 Election, and the incisively funny parody “Super Callous Fragile Sexist Racist Braggadocious” was started by Aileen Vance during the 2016 campaign, with David & Jenny adapting lyrics and adding verses. Inspired by lawn signs, David’s anthem “Hatred Has No Place” has been sung at vigils, rallies, marches and by schools and church groups. Peggy Seeger’s brilliant “B-Side” turns gender realities on their head, and feels particularly timely in the midst of the #MeToo movement. The long-range perspective and encouragement offered by Bernice Diskin’s “Catch a Second Breath” gains relevance in these times.

On the more personal side, there’s “Now Don’t You Worry” – a “don’t-sweat-the-small-stuff” co-write between Jenny and Davey O.; John Prine’s classic “Angel From Montgomery”; “Bobbin’ Along” - David’s instrumental collaboration with Acoustic Blender member Justin Solonynka; an unusual arrangement of Dido’s “Thank You” with intricate vocal parts; and David’s deceptively simple “Least Little Thing,” expressing the concept: “there is greatness in the least little thing.” The album demonstrates David & Jenny’s range and craft as songwriters and their eclectic taste as interpreters.

Two of a Kind’s 2-part vocal harmonies are doubled to full 4-part by their adult twin sons Ari & Jason (who also add French horn and trombone parts to a couple tracks), as well as their Acoustic Blender bandmates Hope Wesley Harrison and Justin Solonynka. An excellent band rounds out the sound, including Kevin Hanson and Erik Johnson (of the bands The Fractals and Huffamoose), bassist Chico Huff, and jazz pianist Dave Posmontier. The album was engineered, mixed and co-produced by Glenn Barratt of MorningStar Studios.
